Range of Motion for the Wrist and Hand? The CanDo® Wrist/Forearm Exerciser.

Clinicians will prescribe certain exercises to help address individual impairments and functional limitations of a given patient. Typically exercises may include very general exercises including wrist curls and stretches. A lot of these exercises are very generic and can be quite frankly, a little boring.  Let’s face it, the same exercises are used repeatedly. However, if you want something new and want to help your patients, there is an option for you…

…The CanDo® Wrist/Forearm Exerciser!

This product is quite unique.  The patient can focus on range of motion while utilizing stabilizing muscles for support.  The patient can perform wrist range of motion in virtually all planes of movement.

Not only can you focus on addressing range of motion deficit, but you can also improve proprioception and neuromuscular reeducation.  Loading the upper extremity helps to develop proximal strengthening and feedback throughout the entire arm.

CanDo® Wrist/Forearm Exerciser Set: 3 Semi-Spheres; 3 Handles:

The CanDo® Wrist/Forearm Exerciser allows the practice of repetitive functional movement to rehabilitate the wrists and forearms. Use it to practice exercises such as flexion, extension, pronation, supination, as well as ulnar and radial deviation in the hand and wrist. It is perfect for patients just beginning rehabilitation because of how little physical strength is needed to be used. Use the semi-spheres and handles together or use the semi-sphere individually. Mix and match the different sized handles and semi-spheres to find the right fit. This set comes with 3 semi-spheres and 3 handles. Each handle and semi-sphere come in a different size and color (X-Small – Black, Medium – Green, and X-Large – Yellow).

Patients can use the handle and semi-spheres together or can use them separately.  This gives the clinician more variety and autonomy when designing a plan of care.
