National Chiropractic Health Month 2021

This October, the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) observes its annual National Chiropractic Health Month (NCHM). National Chiropractic Health Month is a month which celebrates chiropractic health and promotes ways it can be improved. This year, chiropractic members and doctors nationwide are encouraging everyone to keep moving.

The “Keep Moving!” campaign strives to add more movement into people’s everyday lives. Over the past year, a lot of people have been less active due to lockdowns, quarantining, and closed gyms. Many people have now gotten used to stopping their fitness routines in favor of staying home and watching tv. Not only can this inactivity lead to weight gain but it can cause achy joints and other musculoskeletal conditions as well. These potential health issues are why, now more than ever, it is very important to keep moving.

Finding ways to move our bodies not only enhances our physical health and stamina, but it also increases our mental health as well. It’s very easy to find ways to move, whether that be going for a walk, a hike or exercising at home or at the gym. It is important to find something to keep your body moving and your physical activity levels up. Also, moving will boost your endorphins, putting you in a better mood and leading to a sharper mind. Additionally, you will have more energy throughout the day and gain a better night’s sleep. This is all because you are more active and are keeping an overall better well-being.

Taking care of your health, staying active and keeping a positive outlook on life will help keep you moving through these troubling times. Try to find time each day to get your body moving so you can prevent weight gain, achy joints and other musculoskeletal conditions. Throughout this month, chiropractors will share information, tips and advice on how people can incorporate more movement into their daily lives.
