Assessing grip strength is important as it can tell you a lot about your patient. Not only grip strength, but other variables including all-cause mortality, frailty, and many other pieces of information. Therefore, we should focus on finding way to improve grip strength to help our patients.
Here are some useful tools that can potentially help improve grip strength.

CanDo® Digi-flex Hand Exercisers
The CanDo® Digi-Flex® develops isolated finger strength, flexibility, and coordination as it builds hand and forearm strength. Use each button independently to exercise fingers or compress the entire unit for complete hand and forearm strengthening. These products help to develop isolated finger strength, flexibility, and coordination. Progressive color-coded resistance can give patients positive feedback. Also, these products help to build hand and forearm strength.

CanDo® Digi-Flex Multi®
The Digi-Flex Multi® hand exerciser develops isolated finger strength, flexibility, and coordination. Interchangeable finger buttons can make the Multi a truly versatile exerciser. Use each button independently to exercise fingers or compress the entire unit for complete hand and forearm strengthening. Change resistance for any finger by changing the finger button. Finger buttons snap into frame with ease. Frame has padded ergonomic palm bar. There are 8 levels of finger buttons available: tan (xx-light), yellow (x-light), red (light), green (medium), blue (heavy), black (x-heavy), silver (xx-heavy), gold (xxx-heavy).

CanDo® Twist-n-Bend® Flexible Bar
The CanDo® flexible hand bar exerciser is a lightweight, portable exerciser designed to strengthen muscles in the hand, wrist, and shoulder. Also promotes coordination and increases range-of-motion. The bar is a perfect size for twisting and bending it. Perform oscillation movements for neuromuscular and balance training. Use for soft tissue and joint mobilization. The 12-inch-long rubber bar utilizes the same graduated progressive color code as other CanDo® products (tan – xx-light, yellow – x-light, red – light, green – medium, blue – firm, and black – x-firm). Consistent bar diameter and length throughout resistances means you use the same muscles with each resistance.

CanDo® Digi-Extend n’ Squeeze® Hand Exercisers
CanDo® Digi-Extend n’ Squeeze® Hand Exerciser combines best features of Digi-Extend® and Digi-Squeeze®. It helps to develop isolated finger strength, flexibility, and coordination. Provides complete reciprocal exercise program (flexion and extension). Ergonomic ball-shape positions fingers and hand for ideal pressure distribution. Each size available in 5 color-coded resistance. Each unit is packaged standard with latex free extension bands covering 4 color-coded levels from the lightest to heaviest extension requirements.

CanDo® Web Hand Exercisers
CanDo® hand therapy exercise web is used in hand therapy for flexion, extension, opposition, and supination exercises. Resistance may be modified by adjusting the hand position, depth of finger insertion, or by moving to a different resistance (color) web. The CanDo® exercise web is available in both the standard 14-inch diameter size and the small 7-inch diameter size in both low-powder and no-latex formulations. Two special multi-resistance webs are available in only the 14-inch diameter low-powder formulation.
