Gamer’s wrist is an injury that everyone who uses a keyboard or game controller wants to avoid. It can happen with age, certain medical conditions such as arthritis or the overuse of your wrists and thumbs. It can be incredibly painful and difficult to type, text or use a game controller. Thankfully there are some exercises you can do to help treat or prevent wrist pain:
CanDo® Digi-Squeeze
The CanDo® Digi-Squeeze® is an amazing hand-held foam exercise ball that helps strengthen your hand and finger muscles by squeezing it. There are 5 color coded resistances and 3 different sizes so you can find the right resistance and size that suits you. Once you choose a size that will fit you hand, we recommend picking the yellow Digi-Squeeze® to start off with. It has the least resistance and will help you gauge if you need to go up a resistance or not. Each Digi-Squeeze® comes with a pamphlet that contains multiple exercises that you can do regularly. By doing these exercises, you can help develop isolated finger strength, flexibility, and coordination for rehabilitation of carpel tunnel, arthritis, stroke, fractures, tendon injury, nerve lacerations, tennis elbow and much more.
CanDo® Web Hand Exercisers
The CanDo® Web Hand Exerciser is a great hand tool that can improve your hand strength and mobility. Squeeze the web hand exerciser into a fist and open your fingers out wide to help prevent any wrist pain and other fine motor skill-related issues. The CanDo® Web Exerciser comes in 6 different resistances to choose from. It is available in both the standard 14-inch diameter size and the small 7-inch diameter size in both low-powder and no-latex formulations. There is also a multi-resistance offered in the 14-inch diameter size for those who want two resistances in one.
CanDo® Digi-Flex
The CanDo® Digi-Flex® uses springs and individual buttons to help strengthen your finger muscles by isolating each finger. You use each button to independently exercise your fingers or compress the entire unit for a complete hand and forearm workout. There are 8 different resistances to choose from, with springs that get harder and harder to push down as you go up in resistance. There is an included pamphlet that shows all the various exercises you can do with this spectacular hand exercise tool. Use the CanDo® Digi-Flex® to help to prevent gamer’s wrist and other hand or wrist injuries.
If you’re a daily gamer or you type on a computer regularly, it might be a good idea to pick up one of these amazing hand exercise tools. You can do the various hand exercises yourself or seek a physical therapist to assist you.
